I've finally got my hands on a Sukajan jacket. Big shout out to my homegirls Yesh and Zee for enduring Bangkok's heat and the engulfing Chatachuk weekend markets. I seriously have the best friends ever! Being an avid wearer of the 'bomber' jacket, the Sukajan is a tad bit special. Recognised as Japanese clothing of 'young blue-collar characters in Japanese manga, anime, and video games' the origin of the jacket has also American influences. In the aftermath of WWII, American pilots and troops were gifted souvenir jackets with Japanese motifs embroidered on them to signify their involvement in the war. This soon caught on to Japanese locals along with other military fashion. Today the Sukajan is worn by 'rebels without a cause' or I guess you could say, yakuza Japanese hoodlums. Though this one is a spin-off from the real deal, I've seen legit vintage ones going on eBay for close to $1k and they're reversible. Now that's bad-ass!
Here I've styled the jacket with my current favourite leather zip skirt, HAIM band shirt, Chucks and this new choker I searched high and low on etsy! Love the clear, vinyl band.
