I believe jewellery should always be sentimental or symbolic to the wearer, but when a brand goes above and beyond for a greater cause, it can even be more special. Introducing HALF UNITED, an initiative started by siblings Carmin and Christian Black whom turned a fledgling idea into a growing movement of men and women UNITING together to stop hunger in its tracks. With global hunger being a constant struggle, HALF UNITED strives to do their bit by giving HALF of all profits to feed children in need. Offering his and her jewellery, wristwear and apparel, HALF UNITED's products are all handmade and materials sourced from local businesses. Here I am wearing one of their newer styles, 'The Triple Threat' layered necklace. Each 'fighting hunger necklace' includes a recycled bullet; a simple yet bold, conversation starter and a reminder to the wearer of the child's life they've changed.

You can #doyourhalf by purchasing any of these fashionable designs either for yourself or as gift. Also, let me remind you that with each product purchased, you are providing a week's worth of meals to a child in need. How amazing is that?! HALF UNITED's profits also assist in maintaining crops and gardens, fishing farms as well as providing education for children.

Go on. Give a gift of change. Give a gift of hope.

Listen long, long enough, you can love me. I'll be just yours, you can hold me. Even let you undress my mind, save it, play it, watch it, then press rewind....

‘What is sexy?’ is a question you will never know the answer to. Everyone has their ‘own version of sexy'. That morning after glow, your boyfriends t-shirt, putting on your favourite pair of heels or the way your special someone looks at you from across the room. To exude ‘sexy’ is when one truly feels they are stimulated and their body communicates so. For this shoot, I had no hesitation to ask our sultry beauty Misty to be our muse for the day. Her exotic looks are another level itself, if there is one thing I love – it's ethnic ambiguity. With the early morning light, spilling through the room Misty escaped into a world of her own, only a female can understand when she wears her favourite underwear and looks at her own reflection in self validation. This is not about narcissism, but purely about feeling whole and not having to seek approval from anyone but yourself. Your inner Goddess is beaming and that last text message becomes irrelevant. You are your own. You are now.
You know at this moment, nothing else matters.

Watch Misty in action here:

Wearing: Olivera Monochrome Checked Knit by Missguided, Seed Heritage trousers, Silent Woods Fedora by Lack Of Color, Karl Lagerfeld Watch and Peeptoe Shoes Monroe Patent Heels. Photos by Kassandra Hernandez.

Finally, a long awaited outfit post! I'm really loving this cropped, fuzzy checked knit by Missguided - it's super comfy and an easy throw-on statement piece. Here I've mixed in some old favourites like these silk trousers and my good ol' patent heels for a smart casual look! I hardly wear heels nowadays, but these babies have stood the test of time and have become a wardrobe staple that I can rely on. I will definitely be repeating this ensemble again and teaming it up with a leather skirt when the weather gets warmer.

On a different note, I'd like to thank you for your feedback on my last editorial shoot! This is certainly something I want to regulate on Your Only Black Swan. In return, here's a track to start of your week, good vibes all round!

Since my very first editorial earlier this year, I've been eager to keep the creative juices flowing and plan my next shoot. This time round I've teamed up with my good friend Joseph Harper to create a visual story both through stills and motion. Who doesn't love an accompanying video?! Inspired by the nostalgia of 80s retro fashion and graphic motocross wear, this combination of sexy and cute comes to life thanks to the amazing beauty, Kristina. With her come-hither gaze, infectious smile and out-of-this-world brows, Kristina exudes that old school American girl charm! I personally think she looks like a young ethnic Jennifer Connelly. Set on a rooftop on a winter's day, we jumped over railings, climbed platforms and took in the beautiful sunset as the day neared to a close. I couldn't of asked for a better result!

Be sure to check out Kristina totally babin' in Joseph's video below!
