My dear friend Jessica had her birthday at The Winery in Surry Hills last week. I immediately fell in love with the place and who doesn't love fine quality wine at it's best?!! With rose bushes cascading from the ceiling and the warm yellow lighting of old art deco candle chandeliers subtly illuminating the room, you soon notice the mounted deer heads and plastic cockatoos that took life in the darkened corners. Waitors were dressed with a bow tie and apron and festive Christmas socks bordered the room. It was very much eclectic meets baroque with a dose of retro vintage thrown in. Very Surry Hills I must say!
Sitting in a booth, the intimate close setting was fitting as you did not have to compete with the cool laidback tunes that set the soundtrack for the night. Red wine was the choice of drink and so it looked that the rib-eye sterloin steak was a popular dish too.
Looking around the room, I wish I'd visited The Winery sooner - it is very much the perfect "first date venue" - so if any males are reading this, here's a suggestion for that special night or any special date in particular ;)

Hope everyone is having a fun holiday break! I unfortunately go back to work and reality tomorrow! Though this little break was relaxing and refreshing, looks like it will all be go, go, go again starting tomorrow. Catch me in between posts on Twitter here
