All the good things and a goodbye

If you don't know yet, tomorrow I will be flying off to Thailand for a well-deserved 2 week holiday. I will be visiting Bangkok, Phuket, Phi Phi and hopefully will be exploring more of the west coast while I'm there. A large majority of the east coast has been affected by floods, lucky for us we planned to keep to the west side of the island so fingers crossed all goes well with Mother Nature.

With winter creeping up and mornings growing colder, I found myself searching for new booties and brogues on eBay this week. When I come back from Thailand, autumn will be in full swing and I will need to dump all my summer holiday clothes for knits, coats and layers! These two delightful finds took high preference on my "Watch List". I guess luck was on my side because I ended up being the winning bidder for BOTH! Oh the thrill of auctions! I am pretty pleased with the final prices too - $30 for 2 pairs of leather shoes? Say what!?

Earlier in the week, Andrew participated in his first triathlon, the Nissan BRW (you think you'll start off with a marathon first?!) where he had to swim, cycle and run! Thank god daylight savings ended that very day and we were granted with 1 more extra hour to prep in the morning. The weather was beautiful and the views of Sydney Harbour made it all the more better for the competitor's spirit and spectators like me! I am so proud of him - I would of died after the 400m swim :/

Here are some snaps from the day:

To end my working week, I took Andrew to see my all-time favourite band The Jezabels. I have seen them twice already and I could not pass to see them again to celebrate the start of my time-off. They tore down the roof just the same as their previous performances and the crowd and myself were swooning together in the build up of each song. Love you Jezabels!

I've been reading a lot lately and in the typical holiday approach, I plan on bringing a new read with me to Thailand. My lovely picture framer suggested the book - Hunting and Gathering by Anna Gavalda. It's originally a French novel Ensemble, c'est tout and is now a film starring Audrey Tautou. I managed t0 get a copy in time and am very much looking forward to reading it on the plane and by the pool when I'm there. Hopefully it's a good read and real 'page-turner' type!

I hope you guys don't mind this diary-style post, it feels like so much has been happening I can't help but to share it all before I leave. I still have to finish packing and get a good rest for my early flight tomorrow morning so as a small goodbye, I will leave you with this beautiful photo of a Thai dock I came across on one of my favourite and Thailand based blog - andwhatelseisthere

See you in 2 weeks and a happy early Easter to you all! :P
