THE BEST MARKETS IN THAILAND - CHATUCHAK

This is the one... the BIG BABY, the behemoth of all markets! Chatuchak Weekend Markets is one of the world's largest weekend markets covering an area of 27 Acres, altogether divided into 27 Sections, containing more than 15,000 booths selling goods from every part of Thailand.

Almost everything can be found here at a bargaining local price (not a tourist price), such as antique wood carvings, clay handicrafts, local souvenirs from every parts of Thailand, Buddhist amulets, wooden furnitures, handmade decorated flowers, plants, ceramic wares, jewellery, gemstones, trendy fashions, silks, hill-tribe outfits, vintage clothing, fluffy dogs and heaps more!

I will have to warn you of the heavy overload of photos - when you come across markets of this immense size, you HAVE TO TAKE PHOTOS to prove how amazing, mind-blowing and overwhelming they are! This is only a selection of photos that I took - there's no way I could of included all of them in a single post! Though for those who want to see them all, please feel free to drop by my ALBUM here

So here it goes! Feast your eyes and ENJOY!

I told you there really isn't anything like it! We spent the whole day there and boy oh boy we would of gone back on the Sunday if we didn't have to fly off to Phuket.

Below is my haul of goodies that I picked up! Looking at the photo now, I probably should of bought more but back then that seemed like a lot.

One of my favourite purchases would have to be the ethnic/aztec embroided bag. I have been using it non-stop since my return, chucking almost anything in it due to it's convenient large size. By the looks of what's in style lately, the whole ethnic/aztec/navajo trend is in full swing, so kudos to me! :)

If anyone is traveling to Thailand and Bangkok in particular, you HAVE TO... I should mean MUST visit Chatuchak Weekend Markets. Even organise your stay in Bangkok so that you there on the weekend otherwise you will miss out. You will not be disappointed - I can guarantee you that!

If you follow me on Twitter, you would of seen I've been a busy girl on the weekend visiting Glebe Markets, Finders Keepers and Newtown. I managed to pick up a few goodies (hooray!) and will unveil in my next post!

Keep your eyes peeled! ;)
