BJORG JEWELLERY - 2011 LOOKBOOK

My favourite pages from the Bjorg 2011 Lookbook. Raw crystals, insect vials, delicate butterfly wings, feathers and chains. With similar themes expressed by Unearthen and ManiaMania - I really don't see this trend disappearing anytime soon - but who wants it to anyway?

I am lusting over these babies - I am hoping I come across similar pieces during my Thailand trip in April - anything ethic, raw and mixed silver/gold. You get my gist so fingers crossed!

On a different note, I can't believe the weekend is nearly over! For you Aussie's that just witnessed that vibrant burning sunset - magic or what??! This weekend I managed to watch the whole first season of The Walking Dead (a TV series about zombies and the end of the world) I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who likes zombie horrors. It's not only about blood and guts and gnawing ugly "walkers", but it does cover the emotional development of each character. Just think 28 Days Later meets I Am Legend.

Hope your weekend was tops!

WEEK OBSESSIONS

What I've been obsessing this week:

1. White crocheted knitted top - Wild Hearts Vintage. One of the darling pieces I received from the lovely La-nee, owner of vintage boutique Wild Hearts Vintage. I love the delicate details and the scalloped edging.

2. My key collection necklace - gifted. The perfect kind of necklace to throw on in a rush. Sometimes I imagine what kind of stories are behind each key. Oh the possibilities!

3. Velvet high-waisted skirt - American Apparel. My new wardrobe staple. Team it up with a pin-stripe blazer and printed tee or a loose blouse tucked in with thigh-high socks. AA eat your heart out.

4. Woven cream brogues - Zu. A $30 bargain I could not resist! With it's interesting weave and neutral shade, I find they easily go with any outfit and are so lightweight. I literally have a spring in my step and have not taken them off all week :)

5. The other details - white Rayban sunnies, GUESS? bracelet and clear quartz ring. The Raybans are vintage, the bracelet was a chain from one of my old Guess bags and the ring I made here.

6. Levi's denim jacket - vintage. With the weather playing up like a child chucking a tantrum at the supermarket, you seriously don't know what to expect with Mother Nature nowadays. My trusty Levi's jacket has assured me that much needed warmth whenever the weather has turned grey.

7. In the bag: satchel bag, Gucci by Gucci and Beautiful Losers by Leonard Cohen. This satchel bag is another piece from Wild Hearts Vintage. The deep auburn brown reminds me of autumn and this book has got me tearing my hair out or letting out a chuckle ever since I first started reading it. Let me tell you, it's a difficult read and far from what I expected when I read the back blurb.(Don't think it would be everyone's cup of tea) Right now, I am hesitant to continue reading. Please give us a hell if you've read it and think I should finish it or just put it down. It would be much appreciated x

8. Coconut juice: my liquid gold. I wish the palm trees in my backyard were the kind that grew coconuts. Then I can say "sipping on SUPER FRESH coconut juice!!"

9. Phi Phi Island, Thailand - heaven on earth. In April I will be going to Thailand for a much needed and well earned holiday. I just recently picked up my tickets and I'm thrilled to say that everything ie. flights, accommodation, transfers, tours etc are LOCKED IN!! I will be visiting Bangkok, Phuket and Phi Phi Island - has anyone else been to Thailand? All I have left now is the countdown till I feel my feet hit Thai sand.

Hope your week has been a pleasant one and not too stressful.

MOTEL STOP

Lazing around the motel we stayed at during our stay in Bathurst. Though it was a really dodgy and scabby motel, it was the only vacancy left when we booked. Being one of the hottest days in Sydney ever - we didn't feel the heat as much 3 hours inland which is a surprise. But let me assure you, we did break out in a sweat. I am wearing my every so comfy cropped velvet leopard tee I picked up only for $1.50 at my latest thrifting adventure! (Cheap or what??!) I've already worn it so much I may transform into a leopard anytime soon! The wide brimmed straw hat I've worn in an earlier post has also become a summer favourite of mine. I always wanted to wear a bold chunky necklace and whilst rummaging through my mum's draw I came across this wooden red piece and fell in love. Here's to long summer days and sunkissed skin! Summer, stay as long as you want! :)

Wearing: velvet leopard print tee (vintage), denim cut-offs (self customised), wide brimmed straw hat, assorted accessories and Witchery sunnies.

Who's that face?

Hi lovelies, I'm back from Bathurst - and boy oh boy was it a scorcher inland! No sea breeze here, or any in particular. We stayed at a motel overnight and it turned out to be one of those old chatty ones you see in movies. You could say it was shocker at first, though as my sister's boyfriend said "this makes it fun", we still didn't walk barefooted in the room. I'm not being a whinger here, but I guess you can only appreciate the luxury of 5-star if you've experienced half a star (does that grading even exist?!!) Speaking of hotel grading - my Thailand holiday has been booked and locked in for April this year! EXCITED is not even the word I'm feeling right now. Thailand has been my next holiday destination for ages and I've already read this Lonely Planet booklet on Thailand I have front to back. Being a popular holiday destination, has anyone else been to Thailand and could offer some useful shopping/markets tips?? Or any suggestions on secret/favourite food stalls and restaurants worth visiting? I will be staying in Bangkok and Phuket during my trip.

Counting down the days till I fly to the "Land Of Smiles".

Catch me here on Twitter if you like.

Dripping in gold

This backless printed tank has relieved me from the heat whilst also being stylish and edgy at the same time - it's my new summer favourite! I like to wear it with short shorts and a lace bandeu underneath, though this time I wore it with a high waisted puffy skirt for my cousin's Hen's night out on the town. The two complimented each other with right dose of fashion forward and girly glam.

Wearing: printed backless tank (random store), satin high waisted puffy skirt (Myer), wedges (GUESS?), assorted accessories.

Today is the day of her wedding and being the first in our family since our parents', it is definitely going to be one BIG DAY!! Being held in Bathurst, our family's hometown, we have a 2 and half hour drive ahead of us! This calls for cool tunes and serious reading material. Looking forward to seeing her in her dress and celebrating with the family. Weddings get me all teary eyed and emotional - but least there's delicious wedding cake at the end! ;)

Have a lovely weekend guys! I'll be sure to take heaps of snaps!

See you when I get back and for all you Sydneysiders - stay cool! I will be facing 40+ degrees out in the inland :( I die!
