Are you feeling the chill lately? You bet I can! The weather has taken a turn for winter and by the recent weather we've been experiencing here in Sydney, transeasonal dressing is in full swing. Being a lover of summer and tropical heat, I quite dislike the cold but I got to admit I do enjoy winter dressing! Layering and playing with prints/textures are my favourite things when it comes to fashion and winter no doubt, offers more opportunities to do so than summer. Blair Waldorf, yes, I did manage to sneak in Gossip Girl in a post, manages to do just that - especially in her younger years as she and the rest of the upper-east side battle the cold New York winter. She hardly ever looks drab like the weather, so please forgive me if you're a Serena fan, as this preppy, prim and polished number is inspired by the Queen Bee herself!
Combining clashing textures, colour-blocking and even a hint of metallic, here, I am wearing one of my all-time favourite vintage finds - a fire engine red mod style coat picked up at the Red Cross store in Newtown. You may have seen this on the blog earlier, I love the cut of the collar and the button details, not to mention it was made in London in the 1950s - a genuine vintage find! To further colour-block, these plum stockings by popular tights brand We Love Colours really packs a punch. They stock every colour in the rainbow and is definitely worth checking out. Incredibly affordable too! I've always wanted to get my hands on a leather flared skirt and this delightful faux number is by Supre. I love the modern edge it gives to this outfit, also being a great staple for winter. Clashing prints and textures include this polka-dot blouse, metallic belt and these leopard print pony hair ballet flats by rmk Shoes. A great everyday essential, these flats have a built-in low wedge, giving you that extra spring in your step. Loving the black patent toe caps. They're also available in flesh, black and tan, but how could you not pass up on a classic combo like patent and pony hair leopard.
Pony hair in any colour or print is going to be a big trend this season. Whether it is a pair of flats, boots, handbag or clutch, an accent of this wintery texture will update any ensemble.
Speaking of fur... How cute is my little friend Chico above?? He is the most adorable dog and couldn't help but to get in front of the camera. I hope you've been enjoying my blog posts recently? There's more to come this week before I jet off to The Philippines!! Only 5 DAYS TO GO!! It can't get more official than that.
Wishing you all a happy week!
