Last month I attended the Love Vintage Clothing Show and Sale, held at the Horden Pavilion Entertainment Quarter Moore Park. Operating from Friday through to Sunday, I went on Friday for their 'Red Carpet' Special Event, which was a fantastic evening to end the working week. Being a lover of all things vintage, it was certainly a treat in itself to be surrounded by one-of-kind, quality vintage items and not just the usual bric-a-brac, 2nd hand pieces you'll find in charity shops. On each and every corner, something would catch my eye - whether it was the texture of a 100% woolen 50's style coat, glimmer of a sequinned dress or the colour-popping frame of retro Emilio Pucci sunglasses. No matter what era of vintage clothing you're into, the whole experience is no doubt refreshing and will open your eyes to what true, vintage clothing is all about.
Here are just some of my favourite snaps I took across the evening.
First up, the stunning store of Cara Mia Vintage. Cara Mia Vintage is an exciting new vintage fashion destination featuring a collection of carefully curated high quality designer vintage clothing. Every item is one of a kind sourced globally from the cupboards and caches of the world’s most glamorous and chic. A must visit for any fashion lover, CMV is your go to destination for unique & eclectic vintage pieces. This divine, bejeweled bustier by Dolce & Gabbana is a knock-out and probably the most eye-catching piece throughout the show. I love the mini perfume bottles and dangling letters/numbers scattered amongst the jewels.
Emilio Pucci mod sunnies - loving the shades of blue and aqua and purple. Available here.
Black sequins and feather detail by Christian Dior. So chic!
For more info on Cara Mia Vintage, check out their online store here. Also stay in the loop via Facebook and Twitter.
The antique and fine jewellery collection of Elizabeth Kwan is just divine! Having travelled extensively overseas to collect her stock, her pieces are sourced in London, New York, Paris, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The antique and vintage collection ranges from the early 1800's of the English Georgian period to 1980s vintage pieces. My favourite pieces of hers are the black, geometric necklaces and cuffs. If you're looking to own a piece of history, check out her online store here.
Mix of bright prints and colours of Webba's Closet.
Magik Eyes Vintage Sunnies - Aren't these yellow cateyes just amazing? The stallowner Gary normally frequents Bondi and Surry Hills Markets so be sure to keep an eye out if you ever visit.
The treasure trove of a stall, Frou Frou Designs is popularly known as a boutique store located in Pyrmont, Sydney. It was a delight to have come across them at the Love Vintage Show, offering a mix of hand-selected vintage clothing and the eclectic designs of jewellery label 'Lili & Pea'. As all of you may know by now, I am a big fan of unique, statement necklaces, so these ones below definitely caught my eye! The neon yellow number and duo tone ribbon/chain necklaces are my favourite. So on-trend and 'right now'!
To see what Frou Frou has more to offer, stop by their website and Facebook page. They are also at Paddington Markets every Saturday too!
For all you tea-lovers out there, this stall is bound to lure you in like the sound of a kettle reaching boiling point! Valentina's Vintage Cake Stands are so darling, you would want to have high-tea every day. The perfect way to get your friends around a cup of tea, these stands are made of quality ceramic with the most gorgeous details and trimmings. How cute are these glass mug candles?? Perfect really! Great for tea parties, presents, kitchen-teas or just to doll up your table settings. For more info, check out her website here.
Some more snaps I took during the night. Loving the texture and tones of this fur coat. Gotta love the 70s!
Vintage Chanel and tortoiseshell! Simply wonderful!
Classic, mint coloured Holdens!
As part of the Friday night 'Red Carpet' event, there was a fashion show, showcasing a selection of couture gowns from Christian Dior, Emanuel Ungaro and Ceil Chapman. Fellow blogger and friend Nora of NoraFinds modeled in the parade, looking stunning in this lady-like number. Feel free to check out her post on the parade here and snaps of her on the catwalk!
I hope you all enjoyed this post! This is only a snippet of what you would find at the Love Vintage Show, there is seriously so much to take in and see. The show is held all across Australia, so be sure to check out their Facebook page for more details on upcoming show dates. For those based in Sydney, pencil in September 14-16 for their summer show. A fun day out!
