Paint The Town Red with rmk

So here it is guys, my first look for the rmk Blogger Project. Myself and a group of Aussie bloggers have been asked to style 4 pairs of shoes from rmk's latest collection. First pair off the ranks is the Bell pointed pump, a modern take on the 1940's Albert Slipper. I had so much fun getting into character for the shoot. For a person who doesn't really wear pointed heels, these babies undoubtedly ooze fashion-forward chic, sophistication, attitude and sex appeal. I love the mix of black leather and red suede - very Rihanna style and to be honest, they immediately reminded me of something Sharon Stone would wear in Basic Instinct; both the original and sequel. The mysterious ways and timeless ensembles of Stone's character Catherine were the ultimate inspiration behind this look, 'Paint The Town Red'.

Here I have kept the colour palette to a bare minimum, allowing the red accents to really pop - how could you not pair a red lip with these heels? This Nella Clutch by Sportsgirl features a mix of interesting details; cow hide trimming, sequins and red native-inspired woven fabric. The stella piece that embodies the "Catherine Tramell" character is this stunning cream coat by new label, The Art of War. Australian designed by Eliza Goodman, this gorgeous winter staple is all sorts of amazing made out of 100% Cashmere Wool (more about this label later!). To turn it up a notch, I have worn my wet look Kit skinnies by Bardot. I feel the side zipper details adds a modern, edgy spin to the look. To complete the ensemble, a pair of cat-eye sunnies and wet gel hair. Channeling Catherine Tramell or what?

Wearing: rmk Bell pointed pumps, coat by The Art of War, Stella Clutch by Sportsgirl, Kit Skinnies by Bardot, Witchery cat eye sunnies, Marc Jacobs watch and Equip rings.

I hope you like the look girls and guys? The shoot was a lot of fun and props to my talented sister Kassandra for taking the photos! For more details on the Bel shoes, click here. Did I mention they also come in all-black?? Killer!

I hope you all had a great weekend! So happy we were granted an extra hour due to the time shift of daylight savings. If you didn't catch on Facebook or Twitter, Your Only Black Swan was featured on the zine Around The World In Eighty Pages this weekend. Feel free to catch the interview here.

Wishing you all a pleasant start to the new week. I will be sharing with you my other looks across the upcoming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out.

xx Lauren
