Black Swan is in business!

For those who follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you would of probably seen my latest update; my brand, spanking new business cards! Self-designed, I was very excited to send them to print and just as well both see and hold the end result. A delayed moved in itself (I know!), I am quite pleased to say that now I can offer something that encapsulates the overall identity of Your Only Black Swan, as well as providing vital contact details. I am looking to do a whole brand re-fresh in the near future, but I think these babies will do just right for now. My favourite part of the design are the black feathers. Do you likey? ... Would love to get to know your thoughts!

In continuing on with the theme, I'd thought I'd revisit one of the reasons as to why I have attained the nick name, 'black swan' - it being, I used to wear all black. Up until now, I have still enjoyed wearing all black, as I feel it's more of a challenge to make one colour-palette more interesting and not just plain flat. A mix of textures, fabrics and finishes can go a long way, even if they share the same colour. If I had all the money in the world, I would make the above pieces my everyday uniform - mixed-up of course! Pony hair, shag and patent have become my favourite textures lately and am actucally considering I should scrap the idea of "tortoiseshell/gold watch combo" for a "black/gold" one instead.

From top to bottom, left to right:

Leather pants (similar here)
Mesh gold tipped collar necklace (ASOS)
Gold and black chain necklace (Mossee
Bats furry sweater (Subtitled, via General Pants) recently bought this shaggy fella!
Atlas sunglasses (Ksubi)
Runway round black watch (Michael Kors) Top of my wishlist, I'll say!
Ponyhair clutch (Sportsgirl) was a little birthday present to myself :)
Pascal ponyhair boots (Dr. Martens) too amazing!
Feather etched leather loafers (Alexander McQueen) they're men's but I LOVE THEM!!
So 'black swan'
Black embossed Sofia Booties (Balmain)

So that's that. Another wishlist. Another (impossible) mission! So far hehe.

I hope you all have been well. We've reached midweek now - yippee!

  3. Business cards are looking good- very modern, what with all the social media listed on there as opposed to the traditional name, position and number.

  7. I'm usually all about colours but I have been wearing a lot more black lately in favour of textures. You have just added some more to my wish list too - want to be the scapegoat for my future poverty? LOL
