Last Thursday night, Darren and I attended the launch party and preview of Australia's first ever Nike pop-up store! Located on the top of Oxford Street, next to the Academy Twin Cinema in Paddington, Nike and Two Birds Talking hosted drinks at the fully decked out Nike venue. Complete with a basketball hoop, Nike Bar and arcade style basketball shoot-out, party-goers were invited to take a closer look at the brand's latest innovations including the FlyKnit (lightest running shoe ever made), Speed Suit and Nike+. In the lead up to London Olympics 2012, Nike has also released their latest campaign Game On World, where you can compete with other people from all over the globe, simply by using a Nike+ device. Simply choose your Nike+ mission, give it all you've got and hashtag your game results with #gameonworld. Head over to the official website for more info.
The party no doubt lived up to Nike's street cred expectations, with DJ Prequel spinning uber cool hiphop beats, not to mention a basketball dance routine and ulta-flexi gymnasts exhibiting 'the impossible'. After an address by Nike Senior Product Designer Matt Nordstrom, guests were invited to a sneak preview of the pop-up innovations store, where an interactive touch-screen encouraged guests and passers-by to explore more of Game On World. I personally had my eyes on the neon yellow Flyknits and to reaffirm their technology, I picked them up and boy-oh-boy they are light as a feather!!
So if you're around town, be sure to visit (or run on over to) the pop-up store! It's only open for two weeks!
Go on, just do it! ;)
