Now it's time! This collaboration with August Street has been in the works for a quite a while, I am so excited to finally share it with you all! Presenting August Street's Spring 2012 Collection "Let Them Eat Cake". Inspired by the phrase commonly misattributed to the great Marie Antoinette, the collection features an array of muted greys, tangerine orange, electric lavender, granny smith apple green, lemon chiffon and pops of fresh lime. Accents such as exclusive signature prints and a black and white embroidered trimming add interesting details to these overtly feminine designs. Made up of a mix of relaxed tailored jackets, cigarette trousers, drape sleeve cut-outs, spaghetti string dresses, low plunging backlines, one will be amazed of the pairing of either pieces.

To celebrate the new collection, August Street invited myself and four other bloggers to style a look to be featured in the final look book. Being one of my favourite up and coming Aussie labels, I was thrilled with the opportunity and was super eager to put on my styling shoes! The lilac and orange look that you see above and below is my personal styled look! Ta-daaaa!!! As a massive fan of the collar, it was no surprise I was going to include a collared blouse. The Mabel Blouse however takes on a more innovative, fashion-forward approach with it's asymmetrical, draping sleeve and hem line. To contrast the soft lilac shade, I opted for these cigarette tangerine Tess Trousers. A combination of masculine and feminine cuts, this look is strong, powerful yet quirky and playful due to the fun colour-blocking. We were also asked 'to add our own personality', either using our own accessories or goodies provided by Door121. I decided to emphasis the angular sillouhette with a double collar. This silver collar of mine (also seen here) toughens the look and the layered amethyst charm necklaces and rings bring on a somewhat androgynous, raw touch.

Watching gorgeous model Krystal Glynn do 'her thang' ever so effortlessly, was certainly an enjoyable experience. As each of her shots came up on the preview screen, I couldn't help but to be in wonder of how she can "nail it" in only a minimum number of takes. Undoubtedly a talented model with a big career in front of her. Did I mention Krystal is also super sweet and a fellow westie like myself! Wat up?!!!

Along with our self-styled look, we were also asked to style a look for ourselves and do a little Q and A. I chose the relaxed Jean Jacket, a beautiful lilac number with divine tailoring, fabric buttons and cuffed sleeves. Layered over a hint of neon, this Sassy Singlet injects life into any ensemble. To break up the colours, this geometric print Gloria Maxi Skirt adds interest and it's black and white binding a perfect accent. Featuring thigh high splits, this skirt is so fun to wear, sweeping the floor and revealing a bit of leg with each step. Topped off with one of my favourite statement necklaces and chunky wedge boots, this look is relaxed yet full of surprises.

Below is my Q and A, sharing a bit about myself as well as my best given style advice!

AS: What is your favorite piece from the August Street Spring collection?
L: I don't think I have a favourite, the collection is amazing! Though I am lusting over the tangerine tailored pieces and collared button-ups. I'm a massive collar fan!

AS: What is the best style advise you have ever been given?
L: Always dress as though you're going to run into your worst enemy! Direct and surprisingly effective advice.

AS: What trends will you be working on for Spring 2012?
L: I've been growing my statement necklace collection. So I'm always on the look out for interesting, unique pieces that will instantly update an outfit.

AS: Tell us 3 random things about yourself
1. I still haven't seen or touched snow in real life
2. I refuse to eat my crusts
3. I actually live my life by two different names

AS: If your could see a celebrity wearing August Street who would it be?
L: Alexa Chung for sure. I love her hipster, school boy charm and how she can transform any piece to look feminine, wearable and fashion-forward.

I would like to sincerely thank Ainsely Hansen, head designer of August Street and the team for this wonderful opportunity to collaborate. It's always fun watching a shoot but even more fun when you have some input. Below are all of the blogger styled looks, featuring Carmen, Margaret, Emily, Mollie and another August Street model muse, Rachel Rutt. Seeing all of them together, you can really see how each of our fashion personalities come through. Each offering their own take on the collection, it's great to see a myriad of different and distinct looks. So guys, you tell me...
