If you like to get out and about on the weekends and like the idea of a FREE ferry ride, make sure you visit the Biennale of Sydney over at Cockatoo Island. A great day-activity and excuse to get your 'cultured/arty farty' tourist on! For those who don't know much about the Biennale of Sydney, it is described as a non-profit organisation that presents Australia's largest and most exciting contemporary visual arts event. Held every two years, the Biennale presents a three-month exhibition, plus a program of artist talks, performances, forums, film screenings, family events, guided tours and other special events, all FREE to the public. Cool or what?!!

As I was taking in all the sights and art installations on the island, I could not help but to deconstruct every scene and framing compositions in my head. Not only was I drawn to each of the installations but also to the existing machinery and objects surrounding them. Finding the beauty in the mundane. Arty as it may sound,  I'm sure most of us experience those sporadic moments. So here are a few of the many photos I took during my visit. It was difficult to cull, so I guess I would call these my favourite!

I hope you like the photos! The one directly above is by far one of my favourites from the lot. As we were walking from installation to installation, a sudden blanket of mist came from no where, immediately engulfing everything in near sight. I quickly ran out of the fog to protect my camera lens and took this photo from afar. It reminded me of something from Silent Hill or War of The Worlds. Creepy but oh so amazing at the same time. The silhouette of the little child running captures the excitement I too felt when the mist first greeted me. This particular 'fog sculpture' is by Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya.

Afterwards, my bestie and I spent the rest of our day exploring Chinatown, eating 'the best' BBQ Pork Wonton Noodle Soup with Peking duck, lining up for Emperor Puffs (totally worth the queue!) and hunting for snapbacks at Paddy's Markets! Ever since my good friend Darren from Boy Moments bought me this black fur design, I've been wanting to start a collection. I accidentally stumbled upon these jaw-dropping ones over at Bespoke Cut and Sew where you can self-customise your very own snap back!! Oh. Em. Gee!! This is holding priority on my to-do-list!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I honestly spent mine watching True Blood! Sis got seasons 1-4 and I am addicted! Slow to get onto the bandwagon but hey, I already got a small crush on Bill! ;)

On a different note, today is your LAST CHANCE to enter my August Street Giveaway where you can be in the draw to win the stunning Mabel Shirt as styled by me in their Spring '12 Look Book! Good luck!
