MOTTLE MEETS SEQUINS

Wearing: mottle knit by Subtitled via General Pants (similar here), Sportsgirl sequin and floral blouse and beanie, thrifted $8 Levi's boyfriend jeans (similar here), leopard print belt by Cotton On, pewter loafers by asos, Marc by Marc Jacobs chronograph watch and satchel by Charles & Keith. Photography by Yesha Singh.

This is currently my favourite, never-fail weekend outfit; casual, cool and most of all comfortable! As you may know already, I'm all for layering and this mottle knit has become my 'go-to' layering essential. It's large round neckline allows for the perfect opportunity to wear a collared blouse underneath, with it's sleeves loose in fit that they can be pushed up revealing the cuffs. I have lots of knits and collared blouses, sometimes I find myself pairing up pieces in my head whilst commuting or lying down in bed. Often I resort to my usual, most-frequented combos however one weekend I was in the rush to get out the door and somehow threw this on. The pairing of the mottle texture and delicate, mustard and dusty pink floral compliment each other so well, not to mention the unexpected pop of sequins. I was asking myself, why haven't I paired these two pieces before??!!! I've come to notice that my "rushed, thrown-on" outfits become my favourite; combinations that are pulled together instinctively and not overtly contrived .... Does this ever happen to you?

With my outfit all about mixing textures, this leopard print skinny belt adds an element of the "exotic" whilst the pewter loafers highlights the shimmer of the sequins. Overall a relaxed, 'on-the-go', coffee date look! Tell me, what does your never-fail outfit comprise of??!...

On a different note, I hope you are all are having a pleasant week and many thanks on the positive feedback on my latest collaboration with August Street. I finally got my hands on the printed look book which looks amazing and will be sent out to all stockists. Your Only Black Swan and August Street will be teaming up once again for a special GIVEAWAY where you can have the chance to WIN this!

Exciting times, so watch this space!
