The LBD - Little Black Dress

Wearing: dress by Portmans, stilettos by GUESS?, Fossil charm bracelet, Marc by Marc Jacobs chronograph watch, Swarovski necklace.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful time filled with fun, family, laughter and FOOD! I know mine was, see here! I'm on holidays for just over a week, so I'm hoping to get the most out of it. NYE is right around the corner and cannot wait to end the year of 2012 with a bang!

Before all the Christmas festivities, I attended one my highschool friend's wedding. No matter who's wedding it is, whether it is a real life friend, family member or a cheesy movie scene, I cannot help but to get all emotional. I got to admit, I did shed a tear or so.. but how can you not when you get to see one of your old friends have their dream come true! Congrats Belinda and Rino! Wishing you all the best for your new journey together!

For the event I played the safe card..... aka. The LBD! I've been searching high and low for a classic, lady-like little black dress since my efforts for the Melbourne Cup here. I nearly gave up on my search, with so many tight bodycon dresses about. Everything that I tried on was ridiculously tight (I really wanted to eat at this big Italian wedding) or short that if I bent over I would flash to the whole world. Nah ahh... I had to find something wedding appropriate and will come in handy for the next formal occasion. So I happened to walk into Portmans... and BOOM! Found this darling number. It fits so well and the subtle peplum waist is so flattering, plus the length is perfect. I had to get it straight away. I was so relieved and happy. I'm sure this LBD will save the day again. Teamed up with my favourite evening stilettos and matching gold jewellery from Fossil, Swarovski and Marc Jacobs - a timeless look like this is sometimes the best card to play!

I hope you're having a top week! Catch me in between posts here on Instagram! @youronlyblackswan
