The lovely team at Torstar Communications invited me to a pre-Christmas dinner and drinks earlier last year to celebrate the launch of Next, and their new Aussie online presence. Next is a leading UK-based fashion retailer who have expanded their digital reach to Australia offering FREE shipping to Australia within 5 working days. I was lucky enough to participate in one of their styling challenges last year, and one thing I am certain of is that they know how to nail a trend and offer wearable, practical pieces that embody it.
If you don't know by now, one of my all-time favourite wardrobe staples is a good printed blouse. (Many examples here!) There's something about a statement print doing all the work, that you can get on with your day - no fuss, just comfortable style! So as you can imagine, my eyes instantly lit up when I came across this 60s mod-inspired, geometric print by Next. Combining both vintage charm with a modern cut and subtle mullet hemline, it's also lightweight and drapes perfectly. I've already worn it quite a few times already and it always manages to receive compliments. I love the bright orange and gold details, making it so much easier to match my everyday gold jewellery. Here I have teamed it up with these cute crochet shorts and my new peeptoe booties, one could say I adhered to the 'short shorts/long sleeve balance' well. A great day-to-night look, I'm sure you have already seen me sport the print here at work and out and about!
For more amazing printed pieces, check out Next's latest arrivals here. Gotta love this sheer forest landscape print. Too cool!
Hope you're all having a good week! It's Australia Day long weekend this weekend, so looking forward to listening to Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2012! Have you cast your vote yet?
