I've always been a fan of the all-black look, it's modern, chic, sexy and when worn right, you can give off the impression that you mean business! (also part of the story behind my blog name 'black swan'!) ..... Don't get me wrong, it's easy to look like a stereotypical 'Steve Jobs' creative, so I like to keep it interesting by mixing different textures, cuts and fabrics - take this outfit for example. This brocade biker jacket with quilted sleeves is the perfect mix of the on-trend paisley pattern and the bad-ass attitude of a good ol' leather jacket. Exclusive to boohoo.com 's limited edition Boutique Collection it also comes with matching trousers! Now that's what you call chic motorbike leathers! Here, I have teamed up the jacket with a more feminine piece, a cross-drape mini dress that I picked up on sale (crazy $40!!) and studded ankle boots by Rubi Shoes - another bargain as well! To complete the look I've worn one of my favourite statement necklaces and RayBan Clubmasters. I actually wore this look on a night out around Surry Hills and dropping low at Red Room (come on, a girl needs RnB tunes to dance!) and it turned out to be a great day-to-night ensemble! I'm looking forward to the cooler months so I can sport this jacket more often. For now, it's become a great throw-on piece to update any casual look or introduce a bit of monochrome, rebellious detail.
For more boohoo.com goodness, make sure you check out their latest campaign, 'Global Styler'. It is here, one lucky fashionista and a friend can win a holiday to a destination of their choice, simply by sharing a tweet or Instagram of his/her's boohoo style and hashtagging #globalstyler! Here's my entry below! For inspiration, feel free to check out other #globalstyler entries!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! So much has happened in the last couple of weeks with back-to-back events, gigs and parties, I spent mine catching up on sleep and tying up loose ends! (Boring I know) but I did receive accreditation to Mercedes Fashion Week Australia in April! Quite exciting as this is going to be my first fashion week ever! Hoping to get the week off work, cause last year I was away holidaying in the Philippines and well, I want to get amongst it all this time round.
