THE TUXEDO WAISTCOAT DRESS

Wearing: Lapel waistcoat wrap dress by asos, HAIM concert t-shirt, chunk white leather sandals by Windsor Smith, reflector aviators by Cotton On, fur clutch by Sportsgirl. Photos by Kassandra Hernandez.

Check it, I'm bearing skin this winter! The weather has been so lovely lately here in Sydney, I've tried my best to step outside the office and soak up some rays during my lunch breaks. It truly is nice to bask in the sun like a lizard, I can't wait for spring to come about so I can roll out a picnic rug and graze on cheese platters with friends. The other day I was able to wear this monochrome ensemble which has been sitting in my wardrobe for quite a while now. This tuxedo wrap dress is the perfect mix of masculine meets feminine with a nod to 80's suit attire. The lapel and faux pocket detail means business but when teamed with a casual tee underneath, this "suit look" becomes much more relaxed. Here I've worn my new HAIM Forever tee I picked up at their live gig at the Hi-Fi. Love the type peeking through! I plan to get a lot of wear out of this dress and might even go a bit risqué and just wear a bralette underneath for a night look! Really longing for a sultry summer evening, I am more than ready!

The last week has been a crazy one in terms of work but have managed to power through! Being a visual person my biggest relief is zoning out to music. A designer needs to rest their eyes! This week's top track is 'Play by Play' by Autre Ne Veut (aka. Arthur Ashin). Wait for 1.57, the pick up in melody is just amazing. Totally aching for this.

Wishing you all a happy week!

  1. Love the outfit, and the sunglasses look so well with it too. They totally give a "cooler than thou" vibe with the aviators. It's so strange that in one place in the world it is hotter than hot (Washington DC) and it's a nice cool but nice winter in Sydney. Enjoy your nice weather! :)
